Over the course of many years, many changes were made on the 356. On the right is a 1500 powerplant with 55hp and two Solex 32 carburetors. |
|
Where as the engine on the left was the most highly developed pushrod engine with 95 hp and a pair of Solex 44 mm two-barrel carburetors installed in a 356 SC. The complex and potent Carrera engine with its gear driven camshafts was exotic. |

Body
variations have significant cockpit differences. Dashboards with
more or less the configuration of this cream-colored example were
used in Stuttgart 356s up to the introduction of the "A"
in 1955. |
|
The
arrangement of the gauges in an arc were reserved for the Speedster
(as of 1955), Convertible "D", and roadster variants. |
|
The
third instrument collection (belonging to a 1964 SC), with minor
modifications over the years, was used by coupes and cabriolets as
of the "A" models. |
